David O'Connell trained at both Trinity College and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and has a special interest in dermatology and skin cancer. 
 

He is member of both the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Ireland and the Primary Care Surgical Association and has completed specialist training in dermoscopy and skin surgery.
